Welcome to Flash Editorials for November 16, 2012. I am Russell D. Longcore, owner and editor of DumpDC. Flash Editorials is presented by w w w dot Dump D C dot com. DumpDC is the world leader in secessionist thought. We show the world that secession is the only hope for personal liberty and property rights on the planet.

Some of the stuff I’ve seen happen this week…you can’t make up. Weeellll, that’s actually not true. Fiction writers fill novels with this kind of crazy stuff all the time. You just don’t usually see these stupid human tricks play out in real life. As the Chinese saying goes…“May you live in interesting times.” Let’s go to the news.

The Nation I: This week, some resourceful folks planted a bunch of secession petitions in the WhiteHouse.org website, and people from all over the nation began electronically signing them. As of today, there are petitions filed for all 50 states, and there have been over 700,000 digital signatures filed. I wrote an article this week in which I stated that the petitions are entirely incorrect, and that this is not the way a state secedes…by begging the current administration for permission to leave the Union. A few people left comments here at DumpDC fussing at me for not being wildly in favor of the petitions. So here is my latest comment. In the public relations game, even when they are talking ugly about you, they are still talking about you. I am glad that the secession petitions raised awareness about secession here in America. I am glad that Sean Hannity interviewed TNM president Daniel Miller on Hannity’s show Tuesday night. The more that America hears the word “secession,” the more comfortable they will be with it. And because America heard about it on TV, that somehow lends credibility to the story and the concept. Secession is a long way from reality. No governor or state house in America will take up this topic in a serious manner until AFTER the economic collapse. Then they will deal with it out of self-preservation.

The Nation II: The CIA/Benghazi/Petraeus story got legs. Lots of legs. Girls all over the place. Two generals are now in trouble along with two Florida military brass groupies (who knew that generals had groupies?). Paula Broadwell, Petraeus’ principal squeeze, has been found to have classified data on her computer, although the source of the data has not yet been revealed. Most of us only know about the CIA from what THEY tell us about themselves, or what we see on fictional TV shows or movies like The Bourne Trilogy. So America in its ignorance THINKS that our intelligence community is the best in the world. But that is just public relations. Our spies seem to be bumbling idiots that can’t run an “op” (operation) right, even if it means their own skin. And when the guys at the top are the biggest security risks of all, you know that shyt rolls downhill into the organization. I don’t want to demean all the operators in the CIA. There are career guys and gals that care deeply about doing their jobs right. But don’t you forget this…Afghanistan’s poppy crop had been all but obliterated by the Taliban. Now the Afghanis supply 90% of the world’s heroin market. Who is running that op? The CIA. Why? One reason…off-budget cash cow that funds all kinds of CIA shenanigans. And the guys at the top are always political appointees who couldn’t spell “intelligence” before they got their cushy jobs. Case in point…Leon Panetta. Are you kidding? This guy never even sat on a House Intelligence committee when he was a Congressman. Then all of a sudden, he is qualified to be head of the CIA? Based on what? And now the guy is the Secretary of Defense? Based on what? The fact that he was a second lieutenant in the Army in 1964? Pulleeeze. The CIA is broken, and won’t be fixed by DC. It will be fascinating to see what trained monkey that Obama will nominate as the next CIA Director.

International I: Oil giant BP (British Petroleum) has agreed to pay the largest CRIMINAL penalty in the history of the world because of its responsibility for the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. BP is going to plead guilty to obstruction of justice for lying to Congress about how much oil was spewing into the Gulf waters. The amount of the fine is $4.5 Billion. Up to now, the largest corporate criminal penalty ever paid was paid by drugmaker Pfizer in the amount of $1.2 Billion. But don’t worry about BP, though. They made a net profit of $5.5 Billion….in the third quarter of this year.

Business I: I am Founder of a private, secret, members-only Twitter group. We are limiting our membership to just 20 members, 5 are already in. If you have a Twitter following larger than 10,000, my group will give you exposure to over 200,000 tweets each day FOR FREE. If you want this kind of exposure for your Tweets, contact me on Twitter @russlongcore. Follow me, then leave me a direct message. We require members to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Business II: A couple weeks back, I learned about a new business concept called “Social Commerce.” We all know about Social Networking and how big it has become. The use of websites like Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others has exploded in just a few short years. Remember, Facebook launched in 2004. So in eight years, it has become the giant it is now, with over 1 billion worldwide members.

“Social Commerce” is simply gaining access to the vast numbers of eyes looking at Social Networks for business purposes. Now, the traditional method of gaining that access is advertising. But advertising on social networks is not working out as well as expected. Facebook thought they were going to make a killing selling ads to business who wanted access to all those eyes. But Facebook’s stock price has gone from its IPO high of $38 to today’s price around $22.

Turns out that social network users don’t like ads any more than they do on TV. I want to see a show of hands. How many of you record TV shows…even sports events…to view later? And how many of you fast forward through the commercials? That’s what I thought. You ALL DO. So, how can a business take advantage of Social Networking?

Referrals. Networking. Word Of Mouth advertising…the most powerful and effective form of advertising in existence. And Word of Mouth advertising costs nothing. Think about this. You went to a movie you liked and you recommended it to friends. You ate a great meal at a restaurant and told your friends. That is Word Of Mouth advertising. But let me ask you this…did the theater or restaurant pay you any commission when your friends spent money there? Of Course Not!!

So how can you harness the power of Word Of Mouth advertising for your business? An even better question is…How can I start a business using Social Networking and turn in into Social Commerce?

That question leads me into tonight’s commercial message. Would you like to learn how you can make all your social networking PAY YOU! Let me introduce you to a new company named Solavei. Solavei just launched nationwide on September 21, 2012. They have created a company that will allow YOU to refer your friends and relatives and make money by doing it. You don’t have to sell anything. Simply post messages and links and let your friends family and acquaintances look for themselves. If they like what they see and make a purchase, you get paid!!

Solavei’s first Value Proposition is this: Unlimited talk, text and data on a 4G nationwide network for $49.00 per month. No Contract. No Credit Checks. No Deposits. You can bring your phone and phone number with you. And enrolling takes about 5-6 minutes online. I saved $46 a month by switching! That’s $552 a year and I’m getting more that I got with ATT.

Think about this: Cell phone service is a life-essential service that nearly every person from age 10 to age 100 has. And mobile phone users will not voluntarily give up their phone service. What would they do? Get a land line? That requires credit checks and deposits. So phone bills…like utility bills…will get paid every month even if other expenses get cut or eliminated altogether. That makes the business recession-proof.

Solavei’s business model is this: Refer people you know to Solavei. When those people sign up like you did, you will receive monthly commissions as long as those new customers remain Solavei customers. Solavei even has a plan whereby members can have their mobile phone service FOR FREE. How many people getting free phone service are going to switch to another carrier? NONE! No other phone provider can beat FREE, can they?

To learn more, go to http://www.DumpDC.com and look for this Flash Editorial article. Scroll down to the Solavei video, it’s only six minutes long. Watch it, then sign up TODAY!!

What is Solavei? from Solavei on Vimeo.

Economy I: The number of actual initial unemployment claims filed under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 466,348 in the week ending November 10th. This is a whopping increase of 104,548 over the previous week and is attributable to Hurricane Sandy hitting the Northeast. Yet when I heard a news report of this story on Fox Business this morning at 8:40 am…just ten minutes after the Labor Department released their numbers…Fox reported the cooked numbers of the “4-week moving average” of “only” 383,750 as a positive trend for the economy. You may get tired of seeing this story every week, but every week the Labor Department LIES TO AMERICA. Friends, this week’s figures increased by over 100,000 in a single WEEK! That is a hundred thousand people MORE than the usual 380,000 WEEKLY NEW CLAIMS! If any economic stories concern you, this slow-moving train wreck should bother you a lot. When is YOUR JOB going to be threatened? Do you have a Plan B just in case?

In Sports: The Atlanta Falcons lost to the Saints last Sunday so their record is now 7-1. Still pretty great. Just 3-4 years ago, the Falcons led the NFL in rushing yards gained. This year, they don’t seem to be able to move the ball on the ground. Can’t win games without a ground game. Time will tell. Other than that, nothing much to talk about in Sports this week.

Sports Part II: Anytime you get a chance to watch college football, watch the SEC games. The SEC is the number one college conference for rookie NFL players. And any SEC team can beat any other SEC team on any given Saturday. Top to bottom, the SEC is the best college football in America.

Finally, in Entertainment: Actor Channing Tatum has been named “Sexiest Man Alive 2012 ” by People Magazine. First thing I did when learning this is look at Wikipedia about the guy. I figured no way that Channing Tatum is his real name…sounds made up. My bad. It’s just a very Southern name. He’s a Mississippi boy and his daddy’s name is Glenn Tatum. But have you seen this kid? He’s mighty pretty. Hope he doesn’t get all paunchy and rotund like me later in life. I was pretty once, too. See? That’s me in my wrestling pose as a high school senior. Cute, huh?

That’s all for tonight. Thanks for watching. I am Russell D. Longcore. For all of us here at DumpDC: Good night and good luck.

By Russell D. Longcore

Welcome to Flash Editorials for November 2, 2012. I am Russell D. Longcore, owner and editor of DumpDC. Flash Editorials is presented by http://www.DumpDC.com. DumpDC is the world leader in secessionist thought. We show the world that secession is the only hope for personal liberty and property rights on the planet.

This is the first Flash Editorials I’ve done since May. My schedule changed and now I can go back to being a smart ass on video. Let’s go to the news!

The Nation I: The Gross Incompetence and Breath-taking Negligence of Barack Hussein Obama, otherwise known as the Libya Embassy Scandal. The Obama camp bitched about Mitt Romney “politicizing” the tragedy because in the early days of the attack, Romney made negative comments about Obama’s handling. Turns out, Romney was right. But what we have now learned is that Barry is the very person who politicized the murder of four Americans in Benghazi. Various reports have verified that the CIA and State Department apparachiks were watching the embassy in real time from a drone-mounted camera in the sky above the embassy. As the event unfolded, we have learned that there were military assets within ONE HOUR of Benghazi, including a battalion of Marines, Seal Teams and all. The military REQUESTED authority to make the rescue. And get this…the ONLY PERSON who could authorize the request for our military to cross an international border to rescue the Ambassador and the others was BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA. An Admiral in the Mediterranean can’t do it. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta can’t do it. Joint Chiefs can’t do it. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton can’t do it. Only the President. So, what did the president do? Did he leave the situation with his National Security advisor Thomas Donilon? NO!! He dropped the situation into the lap of David Axelrod, his Senior Political Advisor…and he went to bed. You see, Barack had a big fundraiser in Las Vegas the next day, and he needed to be rested. And a few hours later, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were brutally murdered by the Libyan gunmen. And this after Stevens had repeatedly requested more security for the Embassy and the requests were denied.

Barack Obama didn’t do anything illegal that I know of. He did not commit an impeachable offense. He just simply did not give a shit about four Americans in Libya getting murdered. Keeping his job and raising money was…and is…far more important to this tinpot tyrant than doing the right thing. And what would it have taken? A nod of his head? His signature on a form? A verbal order “GO?” But he could not be bothered. But let a storm blow up the East Coast where all those voters live, and you can see photos of Obama in the White House Situation Room making plans to rescue everybody in the East. Of course, you know that it is all bullshit. FEMA will work just like FEMA does. But all that will occur AFTER the election next Tuesday.

The Nation II: The election is next Tuesday. Don’t vote. For God’s sake, don’t vote. The voting process has been taken over entirely. Electronic voting machines are programmed regularly to miscount votes for one candidate or another. You CANNOT be certain that your vote will count for the candidate you vote for. And in a larger sense, when the people who are actually in power present you with two Presidential candidates that are nearly the same man, what does it matter which one you vote for? And think about this. Even if 100 million voters did NOT vote next week as a protest, there is NO minimum number of votes below which the election becomes illegitimate. So if a million people voted for Obama, and a million plus one voted for Romney, Romney would take office. So if your vote truly does not count…and it only gives legitimacy to an illegitimate system…if you vote, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

The Nation III: Hurricane Sandy was a Godsend for Barack Obama. Just before the storm hit the East Coast, the news was filled with the breaking stories about the Benghazi fiasco. It looked like Barry was going to have to eat that shit sandwich right up to election day. But Hurrah for Hurricane Sandy! Widespread devastation will help Obama look like a good guy instead of the dim-witted coward he is.

But let’s talk about Sandy for a moment or two. Hurricanes usually need warm sea water to gain strength. In late October, Weather Underground reports sea temps along the Eastern coast at less than 65 degrees. Hurricanes like sea temps above 75 degrees, and the temperature differential does make a big difference. Sandy was a big storm in the Caribbean where sea temps are still about 85 degrees. So you can see that if Sandy had come north in late August or early September, she may have been a Cat 3 hurricane when she made landfall. Sandy slowed to Tropical Storm status…because of the cool water…and made landfall at high tide in a full moon. So the water levels were spectacularly high. Some say the wall of water that came ashore was over 30 feet tall. And just like in New Orleans, Sandy flooded vast, densely populated areas with sea water, which is highly corrosive.

One of the biggest issues in Hurricane Katrina was if the wind damaged insured property first, followed by water damage from flood. It will be the same issue in the Northeast, mark my words. Insurance companies will deny hundreds of thousands of claims because of flood exclusions and then only pay small claims for a few shingles getting blown off. One of the upsides for coastal policyholders is that Sandy was not a named hurricane when she made landfall, so many policies with huge wind deductibles won’t trigger. Watch it happen and remember my words.

The final total of damages along the Eastern Seaboard will be many billions of dollars. But don’t worry. Washington has a printing press. They won’t run out of money. The insurance companies might…but not DC.

International I: Unemployment in the Eurozone rose in September to a record high of 11.6%, according to a report by the European Commission’s Eurostat agency. Spain has the highest numbers in the Eurozone, with a jobless rate of 25.8%, followed by Greece with 25.1%. On the other end of the spectrum…or perhaps I should say in the northern region of the Eurozone, Austria has a 4.4% jobless rate, and Luxembourg’s rate is 5.2%. Friends, it is only a matter of time until the Euro currency collapses…just like here in America. They can take us down, and the collapse of the Dollar will surely take down the world.

Business: Just last week, I learned about a new business concept called “Social Commerce.” We all know about Social Networking and how big it has become. The use of websites like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others has exploded in just a few short years. Remember, Facebook launched in 2004. Economy I: The number of actual initial unemployment claims filed under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 342,702 in the week ending October 20th. But the Labor Department said that New Jersey and Washington DC did not submit their weekly numbers because of the storm. All day, I’ve heard the news readers only say that the national number was 9,000 less than last week. Any outrage that 342,000 people THIS WEEK file for unemployment…and that AT LEAST this amount of people PER WEEK have been filing for unemployment for THREE YEARS? Let’s see…350,000 times 24 months is 8,400,000. NEW. UNEMPLOYMENT. CLAIMS. And then the Obama Administration crows like a rooster that 114,000 jobs were created last MONTH…and that the unemployment rate is 7.8%. Let’s see…at least a million three new unemployment claims in September and 114,000 jobs created. Sure! The Obama Administration has this under control! He deserves a second term!

Sports: In the World Series, the San Francisco Giants mugged the Detroit Tigers in four straight games. Looks like the Ti-girls peaked in the playoffs because they swept the New York Yankees in four games. The Girls had no offense at all in the World Series. Cheer up, Detroit. You were in the World Series back in 1968, and then again this year. In another 44 years, you can play in the World Series again.

Sports Part II: The Atlanta Falcons have a 7-0 record in the National Football League. Oh my God! That has never happened in the history of the franchise. Team Owner Arthur Blank, billionaire former owner of Home Depot, can’t stop smiling. The team is deep in talent and healthy. They could go all the way.

Finally, in Entertainment: I watched the second installment of Atlas Shrugged last week. It’s a very well done motion picture. Beautifully shot and well directed. But the events in America in the movie closely parallel what is happening in America today. Crushing Federal regulations are forcing some businesses out of business. In the movie, the Feds order businesses to continue in business at present pricing of their goods and services, and forbid them to close. Then the Feds come to the owner of a steel company and require him to sell them steel. He refuses to sell at any price and they have him arrested and place him on trial. Meanwhile, top leaders in science and industry are disappearing. Yeah, I know how the book ends. But I’m still looking forward to the third installment of Atlas Shrugged.

That’s all for tonight. Thanks for looking us over. I am Russell D. Longcore. For all of us here at DumpDC…Good night and good luck.

This has been a news-filled week!

The Nation I: Rick Santorum won beauty contests in Alabama, Kansas and Mississippi this week, and Mitt Romney came in third behind Tweedledum Gingrich in the South. And poor ol’ Ron Paul…came in dead last. Curious thing about Ron Paul. He draws enormous crowds to venues when he speaks. He has been brilliant in getting campaign contributions for eight years, holding “Ron Paul Money Bombs” that generate millions each time. Ron Paul has won the hearts and minds of the young and those who are tired of being robbed and lied to. But what will the good doctor do with all these followers at the convention and beyond? There is no possibility that he will swing his support to any of the other three candidates when he stands against everything they support. I have heard many suggest he become a Third Party candidate, but that would be a one-way ticket to Ross Perot-ville. But I have a suggestion for Mister Paul. How about taking the next logical step in protecting personal liberty and property rights and become a secessionist? Forsake the Grand Old Party, Doctor Paul. Tell your willing, excited followers that secession is the only solution to return liberty to the North American continent. Encourage your supporters to spread the good news about forming new nations from old states. And finally, because you are from Texas, nominate yourself as the first President of a New Texas nation. Texas needs a lightning rod for nationhood, and with your notoriety and principled stand against DC tyranny, you are the perfect man to be the next Sam Houston.

The Nation II: Washington is in full spin cycle about Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, who has been identified as the “lone gunman” who murdered 16 civilians in Afghanistan this week. Afghanis say there were more than one soldier committing the murders, and that they were all drunk. Remembering the Patrick Tillman story, and how the Army lied their asses off, I’m kind of inclined to believe the indigenous reports. Bales has now been emergency evacuated from Afghanistan by aircraft and is heading for Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. For days after the incident, I heard Obama and Defense Secretary Panetta stating that this would not deter America from its mission in Afghanistan. Really? Our soldiers commit a mass murder of mostly women and children and DC thinks it’s just business as usual? War is defined by atrocity, but also by hubris. And hubris is usually followed by nemesis.

The Nation III: Our Moron-in-Chief, Barack Obama, announced this week that he would release some of the US Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) into the market with the goal of easing American gas and diesel prices. The SPR is supposed to be America’s defensive measure against a temporary supply disruption. The SPR is an emergency trust fund of about 750 million barrels of oil. The US imports about 12 million barrels of crude daily, so if we used the entire SPR, it would only last us two months. So once again, the Wanker-in-Chief plays politics with national security in an attempt to lower gas prices at the pump. But the last time he dipped into the SPR was in 2011 during the Arab Spring, and the 30 million barrels released dropped the pump price by 3 cents. Three. Cents. The world is awash with crude oil. Obama simply wants to get re-elected. This ain’t about US…this move is ALL about HIM.

International I: This week, the SWIFT banking clearing house, the company that manages nearly all international transactions, cut off Iran from doing business through them. This is only the latest in a long line of sanctions that stretch back into the 1980s. Make no mistake, dear readers. The USA is already at war with Iran. Economic sanctions are an act of war. There is just nobody shooting guns yet. Notice I said “yet.” Which brings be to…

International II: The US Navy’s first nuclear aircraft carrier USS Enterprise has sailed from Norfolk, Virginia on its final voyage and deployment. It is headed for the Persian Gulf/Arabian Sea area. When it arrives, it will be one of three carrier task forces in the area at once. Is the Obama Administration trying to bluff Iran? Or is the US going to strike Iran at the demand of Israel? Just keep one word in mind…”Sunburn.” Google the term “Sunburn Missile” and see what awaits the carrier task forces. Perhaps the Pentagon decided to have the USS Enterprise sunk at sea instead of being cut up for scrap at the Navy Yard.

International III: Israel knows that Obama is not their friend. But they know that the Republican top three are competing with each other to see who will go to war for Israel against Iran first. So what might Israel do to change the November election? They might keep up the pressure to attack Iran. That will keep the Middle East unstable. An unstable Middle East will keep crude oil prices climbing. And if gasoline prices hit $5.00 per gallon before November, Obama is a goner.

Shameless Plug: Have you ever dreamed of owning a home-based business? It’s a dream shared by millions of people who crave freedom from bosses. But it’s much, much more…and today I want you to concentrate on TIME FREEDOM. You can always earn more money somehow, but you cannot earn more time. Spend it foolishly and it is forever gone. Long hours on the job steal time from you and your family. Did you get married and have kids just so you could bring home a paycheck but not spend time in their lives? Do you feel guilty when you miss important events because you have to work? You can take control of your life with the RIGHT kind of home business. To learn more about my Energy business, go to: MasterpieceEnergy.com. Watch the opening video about “Lifestyle.” Then look to the left and click on “Defining Moments” to learn about a truly recession-proof business.

Business: The Apple Computer Company has been enjoying a remarkable runup of its stock (AAPL) price. Friday’s close was $585.87 per share. Per. Share. I’m not saying it’s not deserved, but I have been watching scores of hedge funds jumping on this stock, which drives up the price. I wonder how much Apple stock is really worth. I love their stuff and use it every day. But hype is hype, and stock is paper. We’ll see what happens by the end of 2012.

Economy I: The number of actual new unemployment claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 337,713 in the week ending March 10th, down 30,719 from the week previous. Yet once again, the Labor Department reported 351,000 new jobless claims…a number higher than the real number by 14,000. Apparently, the Labor Department has an affirmative action hiring program for the retarded.

Sports: The NCAA basketball tournament is in full swing, and two of the top four seeds have already been eliminated. The “Big Dance” is always a delight to watch, and a great teacher of the “never quit” values we all need to hear on occasion. And this year, CBS has partnered with other cable channels to show every game in its entirety. Hoop junkies must be in heaven.

Entertainment: Last week, Tel-evangelist Pat Robertson announced that the so-called War on Drugs has failed and that there are too many people clogging up the legal and penal systems because of drug use and drug dealing. Ol’ Pat now believes that drugs should be legalized, regulated and taxed like alcohol. I wish to point out to you that Robertson’s epiphany is not moral or based in an understanding of personal liberty, but political and cultural. He must also be figuring that he’s done enough good stuff through The 700 Club to get into heaven, so why not flip the bird to the rest of the evangelicals? Now THAT’S entertainment!!

This has been a news-filled week!

To view this article as an entertaining animated video, click below.

The Nation I: Breitbart’s revenge: On Wednesday night on the Sean Hannity Show on Fox, the Obama video footage was shown. It shows Barry on the Harvard University campus, speaking to a crowd of students, asking the students to “open up your hearts and minds to Professor Derek A. Bell.” Who is that? Bell…now deceased…was the first tenured black professor at Harvard, and was a Professor of Law. He was the leading American proponent of the Critical Race Theory, which basically holds that white people have systematically oppressed blacks and Latinos over centuries. His writings moved radical thought and led to the recent aberration of criminal law into “hate speech” and “hate crimes.” That’s YOUR president, folks. Derek Bell’s philosophy was integral to Obama’s “hope and change” and “fundamental transformation of America.”

The Nation II: On Super Tuesday, Romney won six of nine contests. There was outrageous vote counting fraud, just like in every other caucus or primary. But our boy Ron Paul came in second in Virginia and North Dakota. One question that comes to my mind is: What is Ron Paul going to do with all the hearts and minds he has won during this pre-election circus? There are tens of thousands of civilians and soldiers that did not vote in the primaries and caucuses, yet have been brought over to what I call “retro-conservatism.” Watch for an article about this topic at DumpDC next week. I have a suggestion.

The Nation III: The Federal Reserve now owns more United States Treasury bonds (debt) than China. Think about what a mega-Ponzi scheme this is. The very entity that prints greenback dollars…creating money from paper and ink…prints up a few hundred billion and hands them to the US Treasury to buy debt, thereby propping up the government. It’s the highest form of counterfeiting ever witnessed in human history. The tragic part of this story is that the Fed cannot stop printing and buying. If other nations around the planet want to dump DC debt, the Fed will be forced to buy it so that the bond market does not crash. Get ready for hyperinflation, ladies and gentlemen. It’s coming to a wallet near you.

International I: What would a Nobel Peace Prize winner do in the Middle East? Especially if he were President of the USA and serious about avoiding a war with Iran? He would call a summit between himself, PM Bibi Netanyahu of Israel, Iman Khamanei and President Ahmedinajad of Iran in a neutral place like Basel, Switzerland. At that summit, he would broker a peace agreement. Part of that peace agreement would be to look Bibi in the eye and say, “On the day that you make any military moves against Iran in any manner, I will cancel ALL financial and military aid of every kind from the USA to Israel…forever. Pre-emptive air strikes are not defense…they are offense. If you still choose to make war against Iran, I will tear up all treaties with Israel and you are on your own.” That is what a Peace Prize winner who actually wanted to live up to the Prize would do.

International II: Quick quiz: Which nation has the third largest population of Jews on planet Earth? The US is #1. Israel is #2. Give up? It’s Iran. If Iran was such a threat to Israel, why do the Jews in Iran live in peace with no persecution? There has been a Jewish community in Iran since the 6th century…BC!! Oh…by the way. If Israel starts raining bombs down on Iran, it will likely be killing its own Jewish people who live there. Collateral damage??

International III: Both Germany and Switzerland have begun the process of bringing their gold reserves back to their own soil. Where do you think they have been keeping their gold? In the basement of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. But who knows if the gold is actually still there? By the way…Switzerland has always had this legendary reputation for secrecy and security for money. Why the hell would they send their sovereign gold to America? This is going to get interesting!

International IV: The Financial Times ran a story this week stating that China has offered loans to the other BRIC nations…Brazil, Russia and India…denominated in the renminbi, China’s money. This is a HUGE move away from the world reserve currency, the US Dollar. The four BRIC nations represent the strongest economies on the planet, and almost 3 Billion people out of the 7 Billion on earth. Dear readers, when the dollar is not reserve anymore, look for massive hyperinflation. We will make Zimbabwe’s experience look like kindergarten.

International V: Vladimir Putin was elected President of Russia this week for a six-year term. Expect little to change, since Putin was effectively running the country while he was Prime Minister. But he will preside over the fall of the United States. Ironic, isn’t it? In 1989, the Soviet Union imploded from many of the same things infecting America right now…socialism being one of them. Planned economies and imperialism don’t work on either side of the Atlantic. 23 years later, it’s America’s turn to implode. Only this time…we’re going to show ‘em how to do it RIGHT. Remember…the Ruble wasn’t the world reserve currency when the USSR tanked.

Shameless Plug: Nearly everyone over 16 buys insurance. But is it a good idea to switch companies? Are any of the TV commercials by insurance companies telling the truth about switching? Business: We read today that certain executives of MF Global, currently in bankruptcy, are actually going to get bonuses this year. The Court actually approved the bonuses, said to be in the millions. Remember that MF Global embezzled hundreds of millions from their own customers in wildly risky commodities investments. Men who should be in prison are getting bonuses. This is what is happening in high finance in 2012.

Economy I: The number of actual new unemployment claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 355,754 in the week ending March 3rd, a 31,000-claim increase over the week previous. The real unemployment rate, calculated by ShadowStats.com, a highly reliable DC Watchdog, is above 22% overall, and much higher in pockets of the country like Detroit. Looking for a job? North Dakota cannot find enough people to fill all the positions available. True unemployment in North Dakota is around 2%, which is statistically zero.

Economy II: Dr. Gary North’s articles can be found very regularly at LewRockwell.com. He has written a new book about money entitled “Banks, Bubbles and Busts.” If you click on that link, you can get a free copy. Do it. Do it NOW.

Sports: Peyton Manning seems to have become addicted to adoration. Why else would a superstar NFL quarterback who has had FOUR neck surgeries in the last TWO YEARS want to continue to play in the NFL? Manning has been paid perhaps a hundred millions dollars over his football career. Can you really imagine that his wife wants him to risk becoming a quadriplegic by playing again? Does anyone think that the opposing defensive squads would treat him softly so he doesn’t get another neck owwie? Apparently the owner of the Indianapolis Colts still has some common sense, and has placed Manning on waivers. Peyton…retire already. Don’t become pathetic…or become Christopher Reeve. You are magic in front of a TV camera. Take a color commentator’s job with a network for a couple million a year and relax. You’ll never buy a drink in another bar for the rest of your life.

Entertainment: The Hunger Games movie opens March 23rd at a theater near you. Based upon the books by Suzanne Collins, the movie is a loose update to the theme in the 1987 Schwartzenegger movie, ”Running Man.” In a post-collapse America, the nations goes buggy over the annual Hunger Games, in which only one contestant survives. The main character is a 16-year-old girl, Katniss Everdeen, who wins. (Spoiler Alert) I hear the film has a good anti-government message, so I’ll be seeing it first week it’s open.

To watch an entertaining animated version of this article, click below.

The Nation I: Andrew Breitbart, the blogger that exposed Anthony Weiner for his sexual indiscretions, and became a high profile, Drudge-like alternative news figure, made a speech about three weeks ago at the CPAC convention that he would release footage about Barack Obama’s connections to Marxists Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn on March 1st that threatened to derail the Obama re-election. But late Wednesday night the 29th, he spent time in a bar near his home with friends, and then about 11:30, left the bar alone to walk home. On his way, he allegedly had a heart attack and died at age 43. This death is far too coincidental to be accepted at face value. We wonder if Andrew entrusted that video to others who will now release it? Julian Assange of Wikileaks, call your office.

The Nation II: Mitt won the Michigan primary, but not convincingly. In all but Oakland County…where he used to live…Santorum tied him. Mitt won by about 30,000 votes, and that was the difference in Oakland County. And Mitt and Rick both get delegates. Super Tuesday is coming next Tuesday. Oh Boy…

The Nation III: I stumbled and tripped into a story this week about the US becoming self-sufficient in transportation fuels. The biggest use of crude oil is in the production of gasoline and diesel fuel. That is the blood in the veins of the American economy. And every day we see headlines about how the price of fuel is rising. We feel powerless to do anything about it. But did you know that the technology ALREADY EXISTS to get America off foreign oil? The United States is the Saudi Arabia of natural gas. We have hundreds of years of reserves of natural gas in our own country. And ALL internal combustion engines will run perfectly well on compressed natural gas (CNG). In fact, engines run cleaner, last longer and pollute less on CNG. There are tens of thousands of vehicles already operating daily on CNG, like buses, big trucks, and fleet vehicles. And the price of CNG for transportation fuel is only about $1.40 per gallon!!! So, why isn’t there a big push in America for CNG vehicles and CNG fueling stations? Honda already makes a Civic model that uses CNG. And when a diesel engine is converted to CNG, it becomes a hybrid, burning both fuels. There is absolutely no downside to CNG as transportation fuels and the more popular it became, the more the price would drop. That is, if Washington could keep their filthy mitts off the program. Another conspiracy? You explain why it’s not happening.

International I: The town of Rasquera, Spain has approved a land lease to private individuals who want to grow cannabis…hemp…or marijuana by any other name. There will be 7 hectares (about 17.33 acres) under cultivation. And in Spain, no one is getting the red-ass about it. Maybe this will be a good example for the rest of us.

International II: The bank of Israel began shifting some of its capital from US Treasury Bonds into US equities beginning Friday, March 2nd. This is a sovereign central bank that has committed $1.5 Billion to start, and will now invest directly in the stock of US companies. This is illegal for the Federal Reserve to do here in America. Why a problem? Because if the Fed is doing swaps with a foreign entity, it is equivalent to the Fed doing the same thing. And that means that central banks can take very aggressive stock positions and back them with Credit Default Swaps Then when the stock goes in the shitter, they can hit up the citizens for their losses. These guys just keep coming up with new and more cunningly dirty ways to rape and pillage the world economic system.

Shameless Plug: Nearly everyone over 16 buys insurance. But is it a good idea to switch companies? Are any of the TV commercials by insurance companies telling the truth about switching? How often should you shop for new coverage and lower rates? Does loyalty to one particular company matter anymore? How do you find the best value in insurance? A new way to shop is online. Business: In the theaters now is “The Lorax,” a Dr. Seuss knock-off that raps on consumerism and commercialization. Of course, you’ll have to pony up about ten bucks to take little Johnny to see this crap in the theater, and don’t forget to do business with the 70 or so companies that are using the Lorax images to sell their products, from IHOP pancakes to Mazda to HP. Why isn’t there a McDonald’s Happy Meal with a Lorax inside? I’ll bet that the Lorax and all the other little woodland creatures in the movie would be delicious on a toasted sesame-seed bun.

Economy: The number of actual new unemployment claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 331,906 in the week ending February 25th. But the “seasonally-adjusted” number reported by the government is 351,000. This week, the Labor Department actually reported 20,000 MORE new claims than actually occurred. If you haven’t figured out by now that these numbers are entirely cooked week to week, hold a mirror under your nose and check for fog on the mirror. Meanwhile, don’t forget that 331,906 people’s lives got severely changed in the last seven days because they got fired or laid off. A week ago they had a job. This week, none. 331,906…this week. Got any compassion?

Sports: NASCAR kicked off its season at Daytona last week, and Matt Kenseth won the 500-mile race. Here is how a NASCAR fan counts to ten: “McMurray, Keselowski, Dale, four, Kasey, Stenhouse, Robby Gordon, eight, Ambrose, Danica.”

Entertainment: The Academy Awards show was the women’s biggest fashion show of the year. The guys are mere extras. A silent movie got multiple Oscars, and Hugo mopped up the rest. The best Oscar of the night went to “The Separation,” for Best Foreign Language Film. It was made in Iran…you know that Islamic country that hates us for our freedoms. I always love to see somebody stick their thumb in DC’s eye.

To watch this article as an animated video, click here.

The Nation: Up until a week ago, the House Republican leadership insisted that if they were going to support the extension of the payroll tax “cut,” there had to be spending cuts equal to it. This week, John Boehner and his buds figured out that Obama was going to hang a tax increase around their necks in an election year. So, they folded like a house of cards. This should prove yet again that principle has no chance in the US Capitol. The Republicans know that in order for American wage-earners to keep getting this cut, the Congress will have to borrow more hundreds of billions to pay for it. Neither side will cut spending.

The Nation II: In last week’s caucuses in Maine, the Republican Party chief Charlie Webster helped Mitt Romney steal the caucus from Ron Paul. Webster refused to count votes from key precincts. Fortunately, the hue and cry on the Internet about this travesty is putting huge pressure on Party bosses to recount and try honesty. We’ll see what happens. Ron Paul may get his first state victory, but not without a knife fight. Now if someone would go back to Iowa…

International I: China has very quietly sold off hundreds of billions in US Treasury debt, and their holdings of our debt are still dropping. The crafty Chinese are getting rid of toxic assets (heard that before?) and taking US Dollars in payment. And what are they doing with those dollars? Buying gold. China financed the American bubble economy on the way up, and Washington is financing China’s rise as DC circles the drain. Learning Mandarin yet?

International II: Russia sent a message to Washington this week about war in the Middle East. They said openly that if Washington started a war, Russia was within their rights to use nuclear weapons to retaliate on behalf of their own interests. They consider Syria and Iran as their interests. How stupid can DC be?

International II: US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta openly stated that Iran is not enriching fissionable material to create nuclear weapons. He stated that Iran is only using uranium for their peaceful nuclear electric power program. So why is his boss trying so hard to go to war with Iran? Two reasons: (1) Iran wants to stop accepting only dollars as payment for oil; and (2) because the State of Israel wants war with Iran. There is not one benefit for Iran to make hostile acts against any other country. Back from 1980-1988, it was Washington-backed Iraq that started the 8-year war with Iran. When is the last time that Iran started a war with another nation? My research finds an incursion into India…in 1738.

Business: Google’s motto is “Don’t Be Evil.” But their real motto is “Do What I Say, Not What I Do.” Google got caught violating the privacy of anyone using the Safari web browser. Seems Safari wrote code to protect visitors’ privacy and prevent data mining. But the propeller-hats at Google hacked Safari and have been selling data from Safari users. It’s unethical, immoral and if it’s not illegal, it should be. This perfectly demonstrates the arrogance of Google. If you have ever tried to make money with Google Ads, you know how impossible it can be to win. But karma is a bitch. Google pulled the algorithm.

Economy: The number of actual new unemployment claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 361,928 in the week ending February 11th. But last Friday night, all the news broadcasts touted lower unemployment rates. The rate of new claims weekly has been over 350,000 for A YEAR. This economy ain’t gettin’ any better, friends.

Sports: Jeremy Lin is a great story. Asian-American brainchild, led Palo Alto High School to a State title in basketball. No college athletic scholarship. Accepted at Harvard, played for four years and set Harvard scoring records as well as Ivy League records. No NBA draft. He was offered contracts by Golden State and the LA Lakers. The Warriors picked him up in 2010 and cut him in 2011. The New York Knicks picked him up. On February 4th, his last half-second rainbow won the game against the New Jersey Nets. Now he’s a star and he’s packing fans into Madison Square Garden. Never…never…never give up.

Entertainment: Have you ever had someone in your life that was an addict? You watch this amazing person self-destruct and you are powerless to stop it. Meanwhile, it tears out your heart and messes up your life. Whitney Houston landed on this earth with stunning beauty, immense singing talent and a heart filled with love. She just could not seem to love herself. I will miss her.

By Russell D. Longcore

The time for Secession is coming to your neighborhood very soon. Read on.

The Nation: The theater production called the Iowa Caucuses is over, with Romney winning by an eyelash over Rick “No Chance in Hell” Santorum. The vote tabulation was done in an undisclosed location, not in easy view of voters and vote watchers. Even though I suspect massive vote fraud, Ron Paul still got over 21%. The neocon leadership had been openly announcing for two weeks that they would not allow Ron Paul to win Iowa. They weren’t lying.

The Nation II: The right third party candidate could win this election. And I submit that the right candidate would be Ron Paul. It would be even better if he chose his son as his running mate, Senator Rand Paul. I also submit that any third party that does not offer a substantive anti-Washington choice would be a waste of time and money, and would likely place Obama back in the White House. But I believe that Ron Paul as a third party choice could beat both Republicans and Democrats. There is only one man that is an actual conservative, obey the Constitution, shrink the Federal government candidate available. Ron Paul. I believe that if a Ron Paul/Rand Paul candidacy emerged, they could take 35% in November 2012. The biggest problem is getting on the ballots. They could go write-in, but that’s unlikely. The state-to-state election rules have been written expressly to keep viable candidates out of the races. The other big challenge is the electoral college. Paul would have to take some pretty big states to win.

The Nation III: My prediction of the presidential election in November 2012 is that no matter which candidate the Republican Party chooses, the Republicans will win in an astonishing landslide. Barack Obama may not win in a single state. This will be the widest margin of victory in American history. In addition, a wave of Republicans will win in Congressional and Senate races. But don’t think for a moment that this will divert the American train from the economic derailment ahead. Just a different crew on the train when it crashes.

International: The insane nations of the West continue to threaten Iran with economic sanctions to punish Iran for having a nuclear fuel program. Of course, it’s OK for thirty other nations to have nuclear power reactors, and OK for 10 nations to already have nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Iran sells the West oil and natural gas. All Iran must do is to stop delivering to the West and sell it to China. Oil prices will quickly hit $400 per barrel and a gallon of gasoline will cost $15-$20.

International II: A Japanese restauranteur paid over $736,000 for ONE single Blue Fin Tuna caught off the Japanese coast this week. This 592 pound fish, once cut up, could cost 5,000 Yen per slice.

Business: Ann Barnhardt posted articles this week that showed how the MF Global debacle is beginning to cause huge waves in the commodities markets. Here’s the problem. A grain farmer sells his harvest to a grain dealer who keeps it in a grain storage facility, like a grain elevator. The farmer gets paid as the grain sells over time. And the grain broker sells or buys futures contracts, which are nothing more than bets on what prices will be like in the future. If the broker is right, he makes money. But if he’s wrong, he’s got to settle a margin call. Recently, futures brokers are finding it tough to find those who will play the game. And if a broker goes bankrupt, the farmer cannot just back his truck up to the elevator door and take back his harvest. The stored grain becomes assets of the broker to be liquidated. The farmer stands at the back of the line of creditors, hold his warehouse receipts and futures contracts in one hand and his balls in the other.

MF Global was one gigantic futures bet that they lost. And MF was using its own customers’ segregated funds to bet with, which is worthy of jail time or death.

The commodities marketplace is so leveraged that it will not be able to meet margin calls (or collateral calls) if futures contracts implode. This is yet another financial market that is likely to collapse, and with its collapse, could trigger the complete economic collapse of the US economy and the Dollar. It is inevitable, friends. When the system is built on debt, fiat money and fractional reserve banking, those three things will take it down. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Business II: More about MF Global. The Feds have turned the bankruptcy proceedings upside down, and set the stage for the confiscation of YOUR money in bank accounts, retirement accounts, and stock market accounts. In the MF bankruptcy, the Feds are placing the other big banks at the front of the line of creditors. The customers of MF who had their money invested through MF, and in escrow accounts, are not even being allowed to stand in line. That means the customer’s money is going to be used as assets to pay off the other big financial institutions, not the assets of the corporation. This sets a precedent previously unknown in Bankruptcy law. That also means that when the other big financial institutions fail, depositors and investors will have their assets confiscated to pay off other people’s debts. If you have paper assets in any financial instrument whatsoever, you now have a new market risk. That is the market risk of no Rule of Law. The very government agencies that you would run to for protection are now the agencies dedicated to screwing you. You will have no recourse. Your only option is to get your assets changed from paper to hard currency and take delivery at home or at a local depository.

Shameless Plug: Heard about SOPA yet? The Stop Online Piracy Act purports to protect intellectual property on the Internet, but critics say the bill will give the entertainment industry the power to censor your website if THEY deem that you are infringing somebody’s copyright. They could actually block your domain name or Internet Protocol (IP) address. Don’t expect your Congressman to read this bill. They don’t read bills anymore. Bob Parsons, Founder of GoDaddy.com, took an early position in favor of SOPA. But the “free market” spoke to him, and he pulled his support. We here at BigGenieDomains.com are completely opposed to SOPA, and we know that the law is unconstitutional. Come see us for all your domain registry and webhosting needs.

Economy: Friday night’s network news broadcasts were all a dither with the announcement that the unemployment rate had dropped to 8.5% just since last month. What they did not speak about is the 372,000 NEW unemployment claims in the last seven days, or the fact that the new unemployment claims numbers were above 400,000 WEEKLY for the last six months. Folks, if you do not see how stupid Washington thinks YOU ARE, you’re lying to yourself. These monthly unemployment numbers are entirely fabricated by this Administration. Remember that when an unemployed person’s weekly benefits expire, Washington stops counting them in the numbers. They also do not count persons who are unemployed but have part-time jobs. The REAL unemployment rate is above 18% nationally, and in certain places like Detroit, is FAR HIGHER.

Sports: I predict that the 2012 Superbowl will be the New Orleans Saints against the Green Bay Packers, and the Saints will win. But for this weekend…playoffs, Baby.

Entertainment: This weekend, I am filling out my final ballot for the Grammy Awards. Your editor has recorded 17 CDs on the Telarc label with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Five of those CDs have won Grammy Awards. I am a First Tenor in the Chorus. I joined the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1998 after winning the first Grammy and have been voting for the Grammy Awards ever since. Some hobby, eh?

The Russian Bear Is Back

November 25, 2011

The Soviet Union Is Being Revived And The Cold War Is Not Over

courtesy Poor Richard’s Blog

If you believe that the United States is the “sole superpower” in the world, then you really need to read the rest of this article. Most Americans have very little idea what is actually going on in the rest of the world and how the global balance of power is shifting.

For example, can you name the country that is the number one oil producer in the world, the number one oil exporter in the world, the number one exporter of natural gas in the world and that also has the second most powerful military in the entire world? In case you need a hint, it is not Saudi Arabia, it is not China and it is not the United States. The correct answer is Russia. The Russian Bear is back in a big way. Did you know that Russia is rapidly becoming one of the top suppliers of oil to the United States? Russia has vast natural resources, a national debt that is very low (ratio of publicly held debt to GDP is less than 10%) and an economy that has boomed over the past decade. Russia is busy flexing its muscles in many different ways. For example, many are pointing out that the “Eurasian economic union” that Russia is putting together is a significant move in the direction of a revival of the Soviet Union. Russia is also rapidly modernizing its military and developing very powerful new weapons systems. Most Americans believe that the Cold War is over and that Russia is a toothless bear that no longer represents a threat. It is difficult to find words to describe how wrong that assessment of the situation is.

The other night during the Republican debate the candidates said next to nothing about Russia. It was almost as if the second most powerful superpower on the planet did not even exist.

That debate was yet another example of just how bizarre our foreign policy has become. As you will see below, if there is one country on the face of the planet that could defeat the United States in a war, it is Russia.

And if you believe that Russia is now our “friend”, then you have been seriously deceived.
The Cold War is not over. In fact, activity by Russian intelligence agents inside the United States and other western nations is now at least at Cold War levels. And tensions between the United States and Russia are rising on multiple fronts.

For instance, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has announced that Russia is going to deploy new nuclear missiles that will be specifically targeted at U.S. missile defense installations if the United States proceeds with plans for a missile defense shield in Europe.

The following comes from a recent article posted on Yahoo News….

Medvedev warned that Russia will deploy short-range Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad, a Baltic Sea exclave bordering Poland, and place weapons in other areas in Russia’s west and south to target U.S. missile defense sites.Medvedev added that prospective Russian strategic nuclear missiles will be fitted with systems that would allow them to penetrate prospective missile defenses.

In addition, we are starting to see some major treaties between the United States and Russia totally break down. For example, the U.S. State Department has announced that the United States will no longer be observing the provisions of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. Russia stopped observing the treaty back in 2007.

The world is changing and the American people need to wake up.

While the United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars chasing around goat herders in Afghanistan, Russia is preparing for nuclear war with the United States. Did you know that Russia has been spending huge amounts of money building a vast system of underground bunkers and shelters?

In Moscow alone, 5000 new “emergency bomb shelters” are being constructed. The goal is to have enough shelters to hold nearly the entire population of Moscow and the plan calls for all the shelters to be completed by the end of 2012. When construction is finally finished, virtually the entire population of Moscow will be able to reach a bomb shelter within a matter of minutes.

So what is the U.S. government doing to prepare all of us?

Nothing.

Instead, the Obama administration is doing the best that it can to disarm America.
In a previous article, I described what the new START Treaty is going to do to the U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal….

The treaty restricts both the United States and Russia to a maximum of 1,550 deployed strategic nuclear warheads. For the U.S. military this would represent a decline of well over 90% from a peak of approximately 31,255 strategic nuclear warheads in 1967. The treaty would also limit the total number of deployed ballistic missiles or nuclear bombers to 700.

In that same article, I discussed the fact that this treaty will leave Russia will a significant advantage in nuclear weapons because it does nothing to address their overwhelming superiority in tactical nuclear weapons….

The treaty completely ignores the very serious imbalance that exists between the U.S. and Russia when is comes to tactical nuclear weapons. Today it is estimated that the Russians have approximately 10,000 tactical nuclear warheads while the U.S. only has a few hundred. These tactical nuclear warheads can be delivered by cruise missiles, long-range artillery or aircraft. The treaty does nothing to change those numbers. This would put the United States at a very serious strategic disadvantage.

Over the last several years, Russia has also been quite busy updating and modernizing their strategic nuclear forces. The United States has not been doing the same. U.S. officials still believe that the U.S. has a technological edge in this area, but everyone agrees that this gap is rapidly narrowing.

In recent years Russia has also developed submarines that are too “quiet” for us to track and ballistic missiles that can evade all of our missile defense systems.
While the U.S. has been making strategic mistakes like helping al-Qaeda take over Libya, Russia has been developing devastating new weapons systems. The following are just a couple of examples….
*In 2010, Russia introduced their new “fourth generation” nuclear submarine to the world, which is apparently quieter than any other submarine in existence.
*A while back, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin climbed into the cockpit of Russia’s new “fifth generation” fighter jet and announced that it was far superior to the F-22 Raptor.

But most Americans don’t know any of this.

As the United States drowns in debt, Russia is thriving.

According to an article in Forbes, Moscow is now the third most expensive city in the world in which to live. An article posted by CNN says that Moscow is the fourth most expensive city. In fact, the cost of living is higher in Moscow than in any city in the United States. Now there are even fears that Russia is trying to put the old Soviet Union back together. It didn’t get much press in the United States, but the initial members of the “Eurasian Union” were recently announced. Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia will be the first three members, and it has been made clear that all of the nations there were formerly part of the Soviet Union will be welcome to join.

The following comes from a recent AFP article….

Three ex-Soviet states were Friday to agree the first steps towards creating a Eurasian economic union, a project backed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to bind closer the former USSR. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Kazakhstan and Belarus counterparts Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko were to sign a declaration on further economic integration at a summit in Moscow, the Kremlin said in a statement. “The declaration will set out the ultimate aim (of economic integration) as the creation of a Eurasian economic union,” it said.

So why isn’t the U.S. press reporting on this?

Back when Reagan was president, Russia was the number one foreign policy issue. But today nobody wants to talk about Russia. Everyone in America so desperately wants to believe that the Cold War is over. Everyone in America so desperately wants to believe that Russia is no longer a threat. But the truth is that Russia is much stronger politically, economically and militarily right now than the Soviet Union ever was. And significant portions of the Russian population have developed a great fondness for Soviet nostalgia. Many of them wish that the Soviet Union was never broken up.

The following is a brief excerpt from a recent news report from Australia….

Mikhail Chernysh, a professor at the Institute of Sociology in Moscow, says constant exposure to a lost country has clearly rubbed off on Russians. “What is striking, that there is nostalgia about the Soviet past even among young people who never lived in the Soviet period, who were never part of Soviet history,” he said. From new retro Soviet-era vending machines to statues of Lenin in central squares, to the ubiquitous hammer and sickle, reminders of the USSR’s past glory are everywhere and for many in the new Russia, the past is too good to forget.

If the United States continues to underestimate Russia it will be a gigantic mistake.

The Cold War is not over. Anyone that runs around saying that does not know what they are talking about. The top politicians and military leaders in Russia do not view us as a friend at all.

If Russia was ever able to pull off a successful first strike and take out most of our remaining nuclear warheads (remember, our nuclear arsenal is now less than 10% the size it used to be), it is entirely possible that Russia would be able to totally defeat the United States in a future war – especially if they are allied with China at the time.

Most people in the U.S. think that this can never happen, but the top brass in Russia and in China spend long hours on exactly such scenarios.

Sadly, very little about Russia will be said during the entire 2012 election season. Instead, everyone will be focused on the “massive threat” posed by the goat herders that are running around the hills of Afghanistan.

The blind are leading the blind and meanwhile the world is dramatically changing.

The Russian Bear is back, and Russia is going to play a huge role in world events in the years to come.

International: Spain’s Prime Minister and its Congress change Spain’s constitution to work in a debt limit. Who knew that Spaniards had bigger cojones than the jugheads in Washington? Answer: everybody. A male mosquito has bigger balls than the DC criminals.

The Nation: Hurricane Irene…the apocalypse that never was.

The Nation II: Next in line for a major flooding…Louisiana. Tropical Storm Lee will bring 15-24 inches of rain to the Gulf Coast. New Orleans might be underwater once again. That would suck…a lot.

The Nation III: Rick Perry jumps into the lead of the Republican beauty contest. Must piss off Romney, Bachman et al after they’ve spent all that money. Remember that there is only ONE candidate in the race…Ron Paul…that is committed to ending entitlement Ponzi schemes like Social Security and Medicare. All the rest only want to tweak them and keep ’em going. All but Ron Paul are criminals, vying to be the head criminal.

Economy: Thursday’s national unemployment report showed a spike in new claims at 412,000 new claims. NEW. CLAIMS. IN. ONE. WEEK…another week of over 400,000 new claims after 20 straight weeks. You do the math. The real unemployment rate is 23%.

Economy II: Not. One. Job…created in America in August, according to the US Department of Labor’s monthly jobs report. Why? No predictability in corporate America.

Business: The US Justice Department files suit against AT&T to prevent them from merging with T-Mobile, alleging that the merger will result in less competition and higher prices. A quandary. Who do you believe? A for-profit corporation that provides a valuable service to consumers in voluntary transactions…or a government that extracts money from you at the point of a gun? Gee…tough choice.

Sports: Michael Vick, late of a Leavenworth, Kansas prison, now starting QB of the Philadelphia Eagles, inks a new contract that could pay him up to $100 million over only six years. Nothing like the free enterprise system to reward excellence. Remember that Vick makes the Eagles a profit, or it wouldn’t make sense for them to pay him that much.

Entertainment: Entertainment Tonight names Charlie Sheen “Hollywood’s Number One Bad Boy.” Gee…what a surprise.

International: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez nationalized the Venezuelan gold mining industry this week, and called home over 211 tons of gold held offshore on behalf of the nation. Even communists know that gold in the hand is better than gold in a European bank. And the fall wedding season is coming up in India. Gold is the number one gift at weddings. Watch gold skyrocket over the next 90 days, certainly for more reasons than just these.

International II: The Dagong Global Credit Rating Company in China, which lowered the United States to A+ last November after the U.S. Federal Reserve decided to continue loosening its monetary policy, announced a further downgrade to A this week. Anyone out there remember seeing THIS story in the American news? Our biggest creditor doesn’t believe that America will pay its debts.

The Nation: In a breath-taking display of Cluelessness and Hubris, the Secret Service paid $2.19 million for TWO Prevost luxury top-of-the-online custom motor coaches so that the President could take a three-day tour this week. Three. Days. And American taxpayers get thrown under those buses. If they had leased these buses…even for a week…it might have cost $50K tops. This president is going to pull those buses into Midwestern towns where unemployment is high and the economy is in the toilet…and talk about growing the economy and creating jobs. Curiously, his tour was not found in the “hood” of any major city. See the CBS story at: Obama’s Buses.

The Nation II: New jobless claims topped 408,000 this week. Remember, readers. This is the number that the Labor Department will ADMIT TO. This doesn’t include people that got fired or laid off that haven’t filed a new claim. I’m going to keep reporting new unemployment claims every week to show you that Washington is LYING about the national unemployment rate.

The Nation III: The twelve members appointed to the completely unconstitutional Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (Super Congress) got nearly $64.5 million from special interests groups over the past decade. $11.2 million of that came from Wall Street firms and big banks. As Will Rogers said, “we have the best politicians money can buy.”

Economy: The stock market continues its volatility, lurching up and down with every tidbit of news. Gold traded above $1,880 at one point this week, silver is above $40. It’s a flight to safety. Don’t wait any longer. Gold is headed for $6,000/oz., silver for $120. Buy now.

Business: Standard & Poor dared to piss off the Obama Administration, and they are now going to pay for it. The Securities & Exchange Commission is now going to crawl up their arses with a magnifying glass. It won’t end well for S&P. Meanwhile, Fitch downgraded the debt of the State of New Jersey…the first of many.

Sports: The Georgetown Hoya basketball team played the Bayi Rockets professional basketball team in Beijing, China in a game to promote goodwill. The game ended in a fistfight between teams, and the Hoya coach pulled his team and left. I guess thuggishness in basketball knows no geographical boundaries.

Entertainment: Russell Armstrong, husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong, hung himself at his home this week. Perhaps he started actually watching the show before his demise.
