Here at, we are about secession. We beat the drum for individual states rediscovering their sovereignty and bidding farewell to the United States of America. We believe that the only possibility for individual liberty and property rights on the North American continent is for states to secede and become nations.

But let’s face some reality. The states are mired in perfidy and are entirely beholden to Washington for much of their budgeted revenue. So, in order for the states to consider secession, something will have to come in between DC and the states.

That event will be the economic collapse of the US Dollar. It can come in a couple of forms. First, it could come in the form of a bond market collapse, as nations around the globe shed US Debt instruments. Lots of foreign nations own US Debt. It only takes one nation to dump a bunch of Treasury debt on the bond market to bring the whole thing crashing down. And when I say “crashing down,” you need to think about what happens at an auction. If someone was selling a dozen widgets, the price would be within a range of high and low. But what if someone came to the auction and offered a thousand dozen widgets? Now there is massive supply, and prices plunge. But for anybody else at the auction that had widgets, their prices would also plunge. So at some point, the prices for ALL widgets plunge. The widget sellers figure they have to sell at some price before the widgets are worthless. So a crash happens.

Second is a scenario related to the first. The Federal Reserve has already announced Quantitative Easing III, in which the Fed will continually buy US Treasury debt. So, in reality, the Fed has become the buyer of last resort. In order to try to keep the bond market from collapsing, and to prevent a scenario like the first one, the Fed will buy up US Debt by printing money wildly. The problem that creates is hyperinflation. Too much money chasing too little goods means the buying power of the money decreases. Pretty soon, the money becomes absolutely worthless. Long before that, while the nation is still suffering hyperinflation of perhaps 50% per day, the economy will collapse. Banks will likely suspend operations and all electronic cash machines and card readers will stop working.

The Shyt Will Officially Have Hit The Fan.

You may not want to remain in the United States during that period of chaos. No one would blame you for wanting to avoid the carnage that will ensue. But what does one do?

You might consider an Escape From America.

Actually, if this idea appeals to you, you should begin a very serious investigation of expatriation TODAY. The chances are overwhelming that Washington will cancel passports and close the US borders to US citizens that wish to leave. Even at that, they might allow you to take yourself and your family out of the country, but you will likely have to leave your assets here in America for DC to confiscate.

So, let’s get to the point of the subtitle. You should seriously consider Panama as a destination.

I began my investigation of an escape from America back in 2001. I began reading a website called Escape Artist. They explored expatriation to all corners of the globe. (OK, I know a sphere has no corners…it’s a figure of speech.) After an extensive amount of research, I decided that I needed to visit Panama. In March 2007 I spent an extended vacation in Panama. My hopes were confirmed. I love Panama.

Top 15 Reasons to Relocate to Panama

1. Dollar denominated currency

At this point, the Panamanian Balboa and the Dollar are tied to each other. If you relocate before TSHTF, you’ll be able to use your dollars freely throughout the nation. After the dollar melts, it will be anybody’s guess what Panama will do. But my opinion is that they will choose money that suits the rest of the world, since Panama relies on the world for most of its income. And China has made very serious investments in Panama recently, so you might consider that in your evaluation.

2. Year-round growing season, abundant fresh food.

Matthew 24:20-21 “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

If TSHTF in fall or winter, what will you be doing to feed yourself and your family? There are very few places in the continental USA that have climates that sustain year-round growing seasons. Panama is near the equator, and the soil is volcanic. Stick nearly anything in the ground in Panama and it will grow year around.

3. Abundant clean water

Panama has a rainy season that fills the rivers and lakes and aquifers every year. I’ve drunk Panama tap water and never had one problem with it…and it’s delicious. Moving into the future, many nations will have potable water shortages. Not in Panama.

4. Tropical climate, little HVAC required

Panama is about 8-9 degrees above the equator, so it’s a tropical climate. But there are prevailing westerly breezes off the Pacific that temper the climate. Panama City is as hot as you might expect. But temperatures in the Panama highlands are 10-15 degrees cooler. Imagine living in a place where the temps never go below 60 and never above 85…year around. One of the most surprising things I discovered is that houses built up in the highlands are not built with a central heating system. Wrap your mind around that. Think how much money you would save if you didn’t have to heat your house.

5. Government is stable

Panama is well run. Sure, there is corruption. What government doesn’t have corruption? But post-Noriega Panama has been run pretty well.

6. Government is pro-immigration

Panama welcomes immigration. The resident visa program is very popular. The “Turista Pensionado” visa is the best known. Anyone entering the country as a qualified pensionado is guaranteed to retain that legal status as long as they choose to stay in Panama. And you do not have to be a retiree to qualify for this visa.

7. Panama has the Pensionado program

Panama has the Pensionado Program for retirees. Discounts and tax benefits of all sorts are offered to retirees. Check it out.

8. High-tech backbone for the Internet

All of the fiber optic cables that connect the entire world run along the bottom of the Panama Canal. Consequently, a high-tech community has sprung up in Panama. Internet connection speeds are blindingly fast for obvious reasons.

9. Panama has no taxes on income earned outside Panama

This is a huge benefit, and stands in stark contrast to the US which taxes Americans globally. In my own situation, 100% of my business activity is outside Panama, but with the bandwidth and speed of the Panamanian Internet, I could live there with no Panamanian tax liability. And your pension or Social Security payments can be sent anywhere in the world.

10. National economy growing

The Panama Canal is being expanded to accommodate Supermax shipping. The canal is scheduled to be completed by 2014. Canal income will skyrocket for the Panama government. Their economy is growing by over 8% per year, and will continue into the future.

11. English widely spoken

Because of the American presence in the old Canal Zone for the past 100 years, English is widely spoken. Sure you should learn Panamanian Spanish, the official national language. But it’s great to be able to speak English most everywhere in Panama.

12. Only four hours by jet back to the USA.

Miami and most of the South and West is a four-hour plane ride from Panama City. I catch a jet in Atlanta and step off the plane in Panama City four hours later…which is due south of Atlanta.

13. Low cost of living

Panama has one of the lowest costs of living in all of Central and South America. An average house can be built for less than $50/square foot. Learn more at that link in #7.

14. Escape US regulations

Think of all the Washington regulations that you won’t have to deal with simply because your physical body is no longer in America. Here is an example. Isuzu makes a four-door club cab pickup with a terrific four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Isuzu does not sell this vehicle in the USA, but the rest of the world can buy it. I will buy one when I get to Panama.

15. Dual citizenship available

Panama offers dual citizenship, but it’s expensive. You must live in Panama for five years in order to apply for citizenship. Knowing Spanish and Panamanian history are also required. Proving your financial solvency, your medical condition and many other “paperwork” details are also included in the process. But it can be done. First, move there. Then decide if becoming a Dual Citizen is to your advantage.


There are lots of cool places to choose for expatriation. One of the most important things you must remember is that, unless you are an American Indian, your ancestors expatriated to the USA. My people came from Germany in 1742. I think often of Johann Jacob Langhaar, our patriarch, who brought his wife and infant son to America. He left family, friends and his family history to start anew in America. What motivated him? Was he moving to…or fleeing from?

You’re going to have to make the same choices. Even no choice is a choice. You either plan and choose your life, or react when TSHTF.

Who Should Be Washington’s Worst Enemy?

(This is an update of an article I wrote in 2009.)

There exists in America an organization that could easily challenge Washington for money…for allegiance…for dominance of human thought and human action. Through that organization, the widows and orphans would be cared for, the hungry fed, and the needy assisted. Further, the devotees to this organization would en masse refuse to enter the national military service. And that organization would evaluate every Federal law and regulation to see if those laws and regulations should be obeyed, simply ignored or purposefully violated.

What is that organization that could wield such awesome power and influence?

The Church.

The Church should be the worst enemy of the State. When I use the term “the church,” I mean nearly all organized religion. Most religions don’t espouse state worship in their sacred writings and doctrines.

When I use the term, “the State,” I mean all forms of human government, across the spectrum from anarchy to totalitarianism.

In Islamic countries, Islam sometimes IS the state. Nations like Saudi Arabia and Iran are run by Muslim mullahs, and sharia law is used. Nations like Egypt, Pakistan and Morocco have governments influenced by sharia law, but still adhere to the rule of secular law. Some Islamic nations have declared themselves to be secular, and religious interference in governance is prohibited.

For today’s discussion, I’m going to concentrate on the Judeo-Christian traditions, which are the foundations of Western Civilization. So, because Judaism and Christianity are found in worship of the same God, these faiths will be held to the same standard as it relates to their relationship to the State.

The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is about the Kingdom of God and Liberty. He merely tolerates mankind’s feeble attempts at governing. That’s probably why he is called King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

But if you look at history over the last 5,000 years, you will see repeated oppression of religion by the State. The State has always seen the church as direct competition for money, power and control over people. So, in order to escape persecution by the State, the church has made increasingly servile efforts to assuage the hostility of the State. The church has given its blessings to the most base, vile and tyrannical acts of the State in order to curry favor and the State’s blessing.


Think of it this way. If the schoolyard bully regularly beats you up for the funny clothes you wear, and you want the beatings to stop, you will either fight back or change clothes. If you want to go even further, and enjoy the acceptance of the bully, you will have to join the bully in some of his actions. Perhaps you’ll have to learn how to be a bully, too.

But, by learning and approving of the ways of the bully, the bully comes to understand that you are no longer a threat to him. Then you might enjoy an uneasy peace.

Israel began its descent into state worship when, around 1047BC they decided they needed a king like their neighbors. God told Samuel to tell them what a king would do to them in I Samuel 8:11-18:

11: This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

12: And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

13: And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.

14: And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

15: And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

16: And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.

17: He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

18: And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

Even when the prophet Samuel told them what a monarchy would do to them, they turned their back on God. So they got King Saul and a string of good and bad kings from then on. Even after their experiences of evil kings split the nation into Israel and Judah, both sides couldn’t give up on the idea of having kings rule over them.

It never got any better.

The Christian church solidified its state worship during the reign of Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century and has been increasingly worshipping the State in all its forms over the past 1,700 years. Kings, despots, tyrants and republics all felt the fawning love of the church.

The Catholic Church alternately fought and blessed the monarchies of Western Civilization for that 1,700 years, and still does so today. I’m not picking on the Catholics here, because the Catholic Church was synonymous with “Christendom” until just recently in history. They learned how to share power and money with the State. And when the Reformation swept across Europe, the new Reformers also licked the boots of the governments in power.

I hear all the comments from evangelicals about the government being ordained by God, and that Christians should obey the State. They usually refer to Romans Chapter 13 as their source. But I don’t find anything in the Bible that tells Christians to obey a State that is violating God’s Word. I do find verses like Acts 5:29: “…we should obey God rather than men.” These words were said by the Apostle Peter after the priests threw the apostles into prison for spreading the Good News.

Today’s Church is a willing accomplice of government in its ungodliness. Further, today’s Church helps keep its own membership subservient to the State through its teachings. This is exactly opposite of the mission on earth that the Church should be fulfilling.

To be true to the message of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, churches and synagogues would teach allegiance to only God, and to no other. They would reject the approval of the State and call the faithful into open rebellion against the State’s ungodly actions.

If churches and synagogues were doing their job, they would preach themes like this Top 10.5 Sermon Topics List:

1. The overarching premise that if an action is a sin and a crime for an individual, it is still a sin and a crime for a group of individuals. Political organization by no means affords immunity from sins and crimes committed.

2. Taxation as presently practiced by the State is theft by other means (thou shalt not steal) and is a combination of force and fraud.

3. Central banking is the method whereby the State steals the value of the money from the citizens through fractional reserve banking and fiat money. This also violates the Commandment “thou shalt not steal.” Fiat money violates Proverbs 11:1 – “A false balance is abomination to the Lord; But a just weight is his delight.” (Dollars actually supposed to be a weight of silver.) The Church could even go as far as creating an alternative money based in gold and silver to circumvent the use of the Federal Reserve notes.

4. Murder violates a biblical Commandment (thou shalt not kill) and is a crime, and is no less a crime when you wear a military uniform. The taking of a life in defense of life or property is not murder.

5. Military service: No person of faith should ever serve in the State’s military. Serving in the military of the State is to accept the State as a sovereign higher than God (thou shalt have no other gods before me). Serving in the military of the State forces the person of faith to have to decide to obey an unbiblical order or obey God’s Word.

6. Government commits crimes against its citizens every day through the laws it passes and enforces. The Church decides which will be obeyed and which will be ignored.

7. Pledging allegiance to the flag of the State is to place God in a subordinate position to the State (thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image…thou shalt not bow down to them, nor serve them)

8. When a church uses the corporate laws of the State as its chosen legal entity, it becomes subservient to that State.

9. The acceptance of the tax exempt status places the church subservient to the State, and is an abridgement of freedom, simultaneously giving up many of its God-given rights.

10. Vices, which may be sins, should not be made crimes.

10.5 Invading another sovereign nation is breaking the Tenth Commandment, “thou shalt not covet.” Any war other than a defensive war on your own soil violates God’s Word.

What does today’s obsequious, lickspittle Church teach the faithful? Here is the Top 10.5 List of Approved Government Themes:

1. Government service is honorable.
2. The Bible tells us to obey the government in Romans chapter 13.
3. Military service is honorable no matter what despicable acts are done. Soldiers are heroes that deserve to be supported no matter where they are deployed or what acts they commit.
4. Voting is your civic duty.
5. The US flag is always flown or displayed superior to all other flags. (but you’re not supposed to notice that this places God inferior to the State.)
6. Abortion is not all that big of a deal, and a woman should have the freedom to “choose.” Abortion is certainly not a big enough deal to openly rebel against the government.
7. Politics and political issues should not be discussed from the pulpits, for fear of losing the church’s tax-exempt status.
8. Pay your taxes obediently, even if the taxes are used to fund actions that violate God’s Word.
9. The United States is the greatest nation in history, and we celebrate Memorial Day and Independence Day by singing patriotic songs and honoring past and present military members.
10. There is a separation of church and state in the Constitution.
10.5 Most importantly, pay your tithes and pledges to the church so the church can continue to reinforce state worship.

The Church, properly fulfilling its mission on earth, would be as radical as Islam. But don’t look for that to happen. For The Church, the book of Exodus contains The Ten Suggestions. The Church has been the State’s toady for over 1,700 years. I rather doubt it will find its backbone any time soon.

In closing, think about how radically different our communities and our nation would be if these simple yet powerful principles had been taught from the pulpits over the past couple hundred years. I dare say that our states might more closely resemble the confederation of sovereign States found in 1776. The People, in whom are found the powers delegated and undelegated to government, would be the masters of government, rather than its slaves.

Secession is the only hope for mankind to enjoy individual liberty and property rights in North America.

They Have To Lie…It’s Required

I watched the presidential debate Tuesday night from Hofstra University. This is actually the first debate I have watched from start to finish. I have a few thoughts, as you might expect.

Read the following text very carefully. Once you get a few words in, you will likely recognize it.

“We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness – That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers fro the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any For of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

This is from Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, paragraph two, the first two sentences. Look at the photos below. The text above is behind the candidates on the wall as artwork.


Bye now…we’re going to go braid each other’s hair and talk about boys.

While I was searching for these two photos, I discovered the same artwork in many of the “debate” venues going back many years. So I’m thinking that the Presidential Debate Commission used the D of I words over and over at debate venues.

Who cares? You should.

Those two sentences are ALL ABOUT REBELLION AND OVERTHROW of a tyrannical, despotic government. Later Jefferson writes that it is the DUTY of The People to “throw off such Government.”

Such powerful words and phrases should make the heart of every politician quake with fear of a People in their righteous indignation rising up and throwing off such government. It’s almost as if Washington’s power structure is saying “we DARE you” to the electorate. Or perhaps they are simply pointing out what chumps and suckers the American citizens are.

Instead, The People Fear the Government. The politicos brazenly hang the quote up behind themselves as wall art and blithely go about their despotic business. And what is that despotism, eloquently exhibited last evening by both candidates?

It Is Never Ending LIES in public. Then doing whatever the hell they like. Remember the old saying, “Hypocrisy is the homage that vice pays to virtue.”

Last night, both candidates lied every time they spoke. They were well-done lies…cleverly spoken lies…but lies nonetheless. Both candidates were Artful Dodgers last night. They spoke in wide generalizations and used connotation words…but almost NO SPECIFICS. Further, every subject touched last night concerning what each candidate would do is entirely outside whatever Constitutional restriction may have ever existed. In fact, the word “Constitution” was not used by either candidate, the moderator nor any person asking a question throughout the entire televised event.

Dear Readers, the entire American political system is built upon lies. To wit:

• The Constitution is our guide
• The Dollar is strong
• Banking is ethical
• America must defend itself abroad
• Voting is crucial to our political system
• Social Security and Medicare will be saved
• The unemployment rate is less than 8%
• Quantitative Easing helps America
• Anyone in the military is a hero
• Iran is working toward nuclear weapons
• China is a currency manipulator
• Politicians create jobs
• Washington wants to fix the immigration policy
• Israel is our ally
• And the list goes on and on and on

The American political system REQUIRES adherents to lie. Our monetary system, which is fiat currency and fractional reserve banking regulated by the Federal Reserve, is a total fraud. Any banking system that permits, even enforces a reserve amount less than 100%, is a lie. So, if you support a system built upon lies, does it not naturally flow that you must lie to maintain the system? Truth would bring the system down.

What would Americans do if the Presidential candidates told the truth about that list above?

• The Constitution has been dead since the early 1800s.
• The Dollar is going to collapse because Washington has borrowed too much, printed too much paper money and decoupled the Dollar from any underlying hard metal. The nations of the world are rejecting the Dollar as world reserve currency.
• Fractional reserve banking allows banks to create money from thin air.
• America is going bankrupt supporting troops around the globe and funding unnecessary military technology and hardware. Over 4,000 men died in combat in the Middle East for nothing.
• Social Security and Medicare are going insolvent and will accelerate.
• The real unemployment rate in America is over 20%.
• Borrowing half of the amount Washington spends is insane.
• Military personnel that obey unlawful orders are not heroes.
• Iran is only developing fissionable materials for electric power and medical technology, and that has been proven.
• China owns Washington entirely and DC knows it.
• Only the free market creates jobs, politicians only get in the way.
• Washington and its contributors LIKE illegal workers and don’t want to change it.
• Israel manipulates the White House and Congress at will because Israel knows that Christianity wants Jesus to return as the Messiah.

Wouldn’t we all expect that the American people would rise up and throw off such Government? No. There WAS a candidate that DID tell the truth about all those issues. His name is Dr. Ron Paul. Look where he is today.

Sadly, after 59 years on this planet, and an adulthood of watching politics in America, I hold no such hope. Americans don’t care. In fact, Americans LIKE being lied to. It that were not so, why would Americans enthusiastically support men like Obama or Romney, Ryan and Biden? Why would over 100 million go to the polls in November and vote AT ALL?

In the Free Republic of North America, we start out with truth. We write a truthful Charter. We establish a truthful government with limited, MEASURABLE duties. We outlaw a central bank and require 100% reserve banking. We create the Frona, a money of gold, silver and copper. We establish a citizen militia that stays within our borders.

Because FRONA is established in truth, our leaders cultivate and practice habits of truthfulness. Truth is revered and required to live in FRONA. Truth is the yardstick by which all human action is measured.

That is what you get when there are standards and morals in your country.

Secession is the only hope for mankind to enjoy individual liberty and property rights in North America.

American politicians, constantly jonesin’ for a vote fix to satisfy their addiction for power, promise that what THEY propose will return “high-paying jobs” to America once more. Messrs. Romney and Obama are presently jockeying for position on this very topic. It’s one of the most cynical, dastardly lies they tell to credulous Americans and to each other.

The Free Republic of North America will be the only location on the planet where high-paying jobs will again exist. But it won’t be for the reason most people think. More on that later.

If you visit DumpDC regularly, you know what a “connotation word” is. I have written about them many times. “High-paying jobs” is a connotation phrase. A connotation phrase is one that carries a subjective cultural or emotional association. An example of a connotation word is “God.” Your emotional or cultural interpretation of that word might be the little statue in the corner that you bow down to, burn candles to, and offer chicken blood on an altar. Another person’s mental picture might be the God painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. But I can manipulate you by the use of the word so that you either agree with me or disagree with me. My definition of the word or phrase is probably not the same as yours. A dishonest person used that to his advantage.

So it is with “high-paying jobs.” What does “high” mean? As compared to what? What is the yardstick with which we measure high-ness?

I contend that high-paying jobs are a relic of the American past, never to return to American shores. Let me walk you through my thought process on this issue.

The level of technological manufacturing has never been higher than it is today. A large percentage of that manufacturing is done outside the USA. American manufacturers are getting their products built overseas. But has quality gone to hell?

No. It’s better than ever. But market forces are at work globally…even in a market distorted by the Dollar.

In the free market, competitors will challenge your offering of goods or services in one of three ways:

1. Same product, better price
2. Better product, same price
3. Better product, better price

Where are LOTS of the highest technology products of the planet built? China. China has cornered the market on technological manufacturing. According to, tech workers earn about $1.50 per hour in a company like Foxconn, which manufactures the iPad, the iPod, the iPhone, Kindle, Playstation and Xbox 360. But its 2011 revenue was $102.74 BILLION. And the world snaps up its manufactured products as fast as lightning.

Here are some tidbits of information about your Chinese competition:

1. In China today there are over 320 million people that speak English. That means they are all at least bilingual. It is also a number greater than the entire population of the USA.
2. The US individual savings rate is zero. The Chinese individual savings rate is 34%, and a lot of those savings ARE IN GOLD.

You can tell me about currency manipulation, free trade agreements, tariffs, duties, and lots of other advantages or disadvantages allegedly held by one nation or another. But here is what I observe:
1. A bilingual Chinese worker will be trained to perform very high-tech world-class manufacturing skills…and then perform those skills for about 15% of the wage that American workers expect.
2. The American corporations that manufacture offshore are not subject to the burdensome American regulations (like OSHA and ADA) that they suffer on American soil, are they?
3. Offshore workers are not subject to unemployment insurance, Worker’s Compensation or Obamacare, are they?
4. American corporations can lawfully incorporate in other countries and leave their profits offshore so they are not subject to confiscatory Washington taxation, can’t they?

So just exactly HOW and WHY are American corporations going to bring “high-paying jobs” back to North America? What would be their motivation? All of the reasons they moved operations offshore still exist, and Washington is not going to roll back laws, taxation or regulation to bring those jobs home. Corporations exist to enrich the shareholders, not to perform some social function for “the greater good.”

Now let’s discuss what Washington has done to cheat the entire planet.

The world economy is a balloon inflated by the US Dollar. The tools Washington has used are (1) fiat currency, (2) fractional reserve banking, and (3) inflation caused by issuing trillions of dollars with no underlying value. Because the dollar lost 95% of its value since 1971, wages have been stagnant for over 40 years.

According to, you would need $568.84 in 2012 to have the same buying power that $100 had in 1971, the year in which Richard Nixon closed the gold convertability window for the US Dollar.

So, using the same calculator, a non-union carpenter that earned $10.00 per hour in 1971 would have to earn $56.88 per hour in 2012 just to have the same purchasing power that he had in 1971. Do you know any non-union carpenters that earn $56.88 per hour? Neither do I. And remember…that $56.88 does not reflect any raise in pay due to an increase in productivity. THAT IS JUST TO BREAK EVEN and maintain purchasing power. $56.88 times 2,080 hours (40 hours/wk. x 52 weeks) is $118,310.40. Once again…do you know any non-union carpenters who earn $118K per year? Me neither. I can hire all the carpenters I want today for $25 per hour here in Atlanta.

This calculation is the same for all of us. states that the average annual inflation rate since 1914 is 3.24%. That is 98 years, friends. I think it has become a trend by now. And, because of the Quantitative Easings I, II and III, the inflation rate is poised to skyrocket into insolvency. DC has no choice but to either continue printing fiat money and buy Treasury bonds, or allow interest rates to increase, which will drive DC into insolvency. There is no third choice for Washington.

Dear Readers, is there any solution for this problem? Yes there is.


The Free Republic of North America will be able to DOMINATE the global manufacturing marketplace because of:
1. Its metals-backed money. Precious metals money NEVER has inflation. EVER. The free market determines the prices for goods and services based upon metal weights, not fiat currencies. Hard money chases out bad money. FRONA has no central bank, and therefore has no opportunity to steal from the citizens through monetary policy. And by protecting the value of the money by not regulating or monopolizing it, FRONA creates an irresistible draw to businesses. Imagine living in a place where you KNOW your money will have the same value year in and year out.
2. The business of the Free Republic of North America is business. FRONA’s charter commitment to individual liberty and property rights naturally favors transactions between individuals. And businesses are organic extensions of individuals. What is a corporation but individuals investing together seeking a return on their investment? When property rights and contracts are held sacred, and not subject to governmental abrogation, business can thrive.
3. Regulation. FRONA’s Founders were smart enough to write a simple Charter that gives FRONA very limited functions. All else is left up to the citizens of FRONA to figure out on their own in the free market. FRONA will not be weighed down with the American-style regulations that chased business from its own shores. The absence of regulations will be an irresistible magnet to global companies to locate within The Free Republic. And don’t forget that the cost of American regulations is built into every product. But not in FRONA.
4. Taxation. No corporate taxes? No property taxes? No duties or tariffs? No Social Security, Medicare, or income tax withholding? Entire accounting departments that exist in American companies will not exist in FRONA companies. No tax other than the national sales tax could mean lower priced goods and services, or more profit for the business owner. Or both.

High-paying jobs are jobs in which the labor cost of a product or service allows an individual to trade his time for money at a price that may use less of his time and provide more free time for that individual. High-paying jobs are a function of what any goods or services take to produce. High-paying jobs are those in which the workers have a superior level of training and/or experience, and they are able to negotiate more money paid to them per hour of labor. And all that is due to the free market, which decides the price of any goods or services by supply and demand.

In FRONA, people will no longer denominate every transaction in Dollars. They will conduct commerce in WEIGHT AND PURITY. When someone asks your hourly rate, you might reply that you work for one ounce of “999” (99.9% pure) silver per hour. In today’s US Dollar, that would translate to about $34.00 per hour.

So the high-ness of a so-called “high-paying job” will be relative to the monetary unit in which it is measured. Sure, there will be high-paying jobs in FRONA. But not measured in Dollars. And they will exist because FRONA has created THE ONLY free-market environment where they can exist.

If US politicians can get you jobs that pay $56.88 an hour, but that money has only the purchasing power of $10 in 1971, what have they actually done for you? They have stolen your money’s value. And the higher the inflation rate, the more dollars it will take to buy goods and services. So if you earn $500 an hour or $5,000 an hour, you’re a sucker and DC knows it. They count on it.

The FRONA Constitution

FRONA is the acronym of The Free Republic of North America. This is my fictional name for the first american state that secedes. As I continue to write about state secession, I will use FRONA as my example of how I think secession should be done.

After I posted the article “Life in FRONA,” I started getting messages about how my corporate model is a bad idea. Of course, the complainers did not offer any better ideas, or any ideas at all. Just whining. So let’s look at how the FRONA charter would be structured.


Somebody has to start this ball rolling. So a group of individuals will have to organize and create the Declaration of Independence, the Ordinance of Secession and the FRONA constitution (hereafter called the Charter).

Secession will spring forth from guys like me and folks like you. We have to do the intellectual heavy lifting now to prepare for our opportunity for liberty.

When it comes time for secession, the impetus may come from the grass roots folks, but it probably will end up in your state house. Most folks look to their state government as the leaders of their state. Unfortunately, for the most part, governors and state legislatures are the farm club for the Washington team. We should be extremely wary of any person who governed under the old system that failed. Remember that they approved of fiat money, fractional reserve banking and central banking. So I contend that the only thing that will motivate politicians toward secession is the economic collapse of the USA with the death, destruction and crime that occurs when The Shyt Hits The Fan.

Will the state that is contemplating secession actually consider a new way of organizing, or will the leaders simply keep doing the same things that failed…just with new bosses? My pragmatic side tells me “meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” Most of the population of the USA is so inured to “democracy” and Federalism that they cannot think. I’m betting that deprivation on a massive scale will jar the people who want to survive into considering a Plan B.

Think back to the days before the Continental Congress formed in 1774, before meeting to hammer out a Declaration of Independence. None of the men were “elected” by ANYONE. Many were delegates sent from the Colonies. Benjamin Franklin wasn’t elected to anything. He was simply a revered and influential intellectual of his day.

Everybody that showed up to organize the “D of I” wasn’t a fan of fighting King George. But they were committed to liberty. The group accepted parliamentary procedure as a framework in which to conduct their business.

I will deal with a Declaration of Independence another time. It is that document that will identify the new nation as The Free Republic of North America, known as FRONA. And the signatories will be the Founding “Fathers”…girls also welcomed to the club.


Stop thinking about a new Constitution like the US Constitution. Even the Articles of Confederation are not relevant. Why? A state that is seceding is becoming a NATION. The stuff that deals with state’s rights, etc, don’t matter in a single nation. Frankly, there is a lot in the US Constitution that should be kicked into the ashbin of history.

When the FRONA organizational group begins, it should utilize the framework of parliamentary procedure also. Robert’s Rules of Order would be a good place to start.

When a FRONA is created, the first officers will be chosen from among the Founders. That group might be 5 people or 50 people or 5,000 people or more. In the Corporate model there is usually a President, and/or a Chief Executive Officer, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. Normally, a Board of Directors is either elected or appointed, and there is usually a Chairman of the Board chosen from among the Directors. So it will be with the FRONA organizational group. Let’s write FRONA’s Charter to create the same offices for us.

My recommendation is that the entry fee for eligibility to be in the FRONA Founder’s organization is one ounce of .999% pure silver. Once the charter is ratified and FRONA springs to life, one share of common stock would be issued to each person who paid the entry fee in FRONA. We can stipulate that only shareholders may be a FRONA citizen or hold an office in the FRONA government. We can also stipulate that shares may only be sold back to FRONA for the same one ounce of silver, and no other transfer of ownership will be valid or lawful.

Now let’s fill the officer’s positions. Anyone who paid the fee gets one vote. We will vote for each position until all positions are filled. Now we have a founding organization.

Let’s continue writing the Charter.

Any person who owns one share of common stock may vote on any issue brought before the FRONA Board of Directors for disposition. Voting may be done through proxy, in the same manner as proxy voting is done in corporations throughout the world. And every vote must sustain a quorum of voter/stockholders. For example, if there are 1 million outstanding shares, there must be no less than 500,001 votes cast in any instance for the outcome to be legitimate. And in FRONA, there WILL be proper identification required to prove one’s status as a legitimate voter. No people in cemeteries voting. Think about it. How often do you hear about massive voter fraud in corporations? HARDLY EVER. Why? Only shareholders can vote.

No more purely representative government, like the one in the US Constitution that was corrupted over time. Everyone gets to vote on everything. No more blaming the outcome on your Congressman.

What about preferred stock for FRONA? Why not issue a certain amount of preferred stock, denominated in .999% pure gold, available for purchase at a weight set by the free market? This would create instant capital for FRONA. Just a thought.

The Charter will have to contain sections about:

Monetary Policy
Taxation and Treasury
Civil Law
Criminal Law
Matters of State (boundaries, citizenship, elections/voting, diplomacy, etc.)
Legislative (The Board of Directors)

The list will go on, but these sections can get the new nation started. The most important things that will be contained in the Charter are the limited functions of the Executives and the Board of Directors. Their duty under the Charter is to protect individual liberty and property rights.

Let’s not be naïve here. The US Constitution was supposed to form a pseudo-management company for the states, with strictly defined duties. That did not work out so well, and there are lots of reasons for that failure. The Corporate Model of Governance seeks to avoid the structural defects of the US Constitution and create a nation in which the free market can be truly free. There will always be men who wish to control and rule others. We simply desire to structure a nation in which those tyrants find little opportunity to practice their tyranny.

FRONA is the kind of nation I want to leave to my grandchildren.

Life in FRONA

In many articles that I have written about secession, I have referred to a state that secedes and becomes a new nation. Many times I’ve called it New Texas for want of a better name. But from this moment forward, when I talk about the perfect example of secession, the new nation will have a new name…The Free Republic of North America. Its acronym will be FRONA.

I imagine that you readers, clever as you are, could come up with a better name. And if you do, I may change the name. After all, this is only a cherished dream at this point.

I chose “Free Republic” to mean that…FIRST…we will be free. That comes before anything else. It is our first principle above all else. The government of FRONA will be organized to protect the individual liberty and property rights of every individual.

The “Republic” form of government in FRONA is not the old republic you know. It is a new form of governance. It is modeled after a corporation. The republic in the USA may have started out well-designed in the Constitution, but was bastardized over time to become unworkable and corrupt. The American republic is now dead. The New Corporate Model of Governance is vastly different than the US Constitution in one major way. Every person who becomes a citizen in FRONA has to sign a contract and pay a fee in pure silver. Every citizen is a shareholder in the national government.

The US Constitution has no legal authority over any individual since it is neither a contract nor a treaty. Further, a legal obligation cannot be passed down from generation to generation without the consent of the recipient. A FRONA citizen has a legal contract with his national government that lasts until he forsakes it or until his death. Yes…a FRONA citizen can give up his citizenship simply by cancelling his citizenship contract.

The “NA” part simply shows the location of the nation on the globe.

Just in case you don’t click on the link above to learn about the Corporate Model, here are some highlights of The Free Republic of North America.


The money of The Free Republic of North America is the Frona. There will be the gold Frona, the silver Frona and the copper Frona.

The first thing that you must do is to stop thinking of gold and silver coins in terms of their value against other currencies, such as the Dollar. Coinage is a function of weight, not price. The national law regarding money would require any minted coin to display its purity and weight, but no value. And the law would proscribe the penalty of death for anyone minting fraudulent coins or altering coins (clipping or shaving).

In FRONA, goods and services will be priced in WEIGHT, not dollars. A pound of steak might be priced at 0.25 ounce of silver. A gallon of gasoline might be priced at 0.10 ounce.

There will be no national money and no national currency. This prevents FRONA from debasing the money and stealing from the citizens. The free market will decide what the medium of exchange is. Common sense suggests that gold, silver and copper coins will become money, and likely silver and copper coinage will be the most widely accepted medium of exchange for day-to-day transactions. (Actually, in the technological age in which we live, the digital transaction will likely be the most utilized medium of exchange.) The FRONA constitution will prohibit itself from declaring legal tender laws. If the FRONA Treasury wants to issue gold and silver coins it may do so, but enjoys no monopoly or control. It would have to compete in the free market like all other minting operations.

FRONA Banking

The FRONA constitution will prohibit fractional reserve banking, and will require all banks to maintain 100% reserves. This prohibits banks from creating money out of thin air like the present global system does. Anything less than 100% reserves is fraud, and will be prosecuted as a felony.

The Central Bank will not exist in FRONA and will be prohibited by law. But in a practical sense, having a central bank only benefits a nation with its own currency. So why bother?

FRONA Contracts and Law

FRONA’s government will hold contract law sacred. The very constitution of FRONA is a contract. The FRONA government will start out with a clean slate as related to criminal and civil law and will not have libraries full of onerous regulations and silly-assed criminal law like drug laws. This gives FRONA an enormous competitive advantage as it begins its existence.

Strict privacy laws will be enacted to protect the privacy of individuals. There will be no tax treaties with other nations of the globe…certainly not with the US.

FRONA Taxation

FRONA has only one source of revenue…a national sales tax of 10%. No property tax, excise tax, duties, tariffs, ad valorem tax, estate tax, corporate tax, income tax…NOTHING but the sales tax. From that revenue FRONA operates its very limited governmental duties. And, because the FRONA citizens own a share in their government, each citizen could receive a dividend check if FRONA has a surplus at the end of the year. Try to wrap your mind around THAT.

“But what about roads, education, law enforcement, courts and stuff?,” I hear you say. First, why do you think government should be involved in any of that? Cannot the free market satisfy those needs better? There are a lot of government programs that would evaporate if they were forced to find a market who would pay for them. Goods and services that have no market willing to pay for them cease to exist. And, if you are not getting taxed like in the USA, you might have enough money to pay your own way.

The FRONA Military

Every person between age 18 and age 55 becomes a member of the FRONA militia. It’s in their citizenship contract. The militia is a defensive force managed by the FRONA national government and organized at a county level. Every militia member is trained and qualifies as a rifleman, and every member keeps a battle rifle in their residence…a full auto battle rifle with no less than 1000 rounds of ammo. Those militia members who are not physically capable to be a warrior can perform necessary administrative functions. But we all serve our nation in the Swiss militia model.

My friends, do not think me a utopian or one who looks at his world through rose-colored glasses. Every government in world history has eventually oppressed its citizens. Nearly all of them have debauched their currencies. FRONA will have the potential to morph into tyranny over time. But with some of the organizational protections built into the founding documents, FRONA stands an excellent chance to be the best method of governance ever designed by a human mind.

Gentle Readers, in the days to come we will explore the other requirements of a new government in The Free Republic of North America. This will force each of us to stop thinking about a government of fifty states, and begin to embrace concepts worthy of a NATION dedicated to individual liberty and property rights. This is an alien concept to most Americans, since we have all grown up and lived under continuously encroaching tyranny belching out of the DC sewer pipe.

Liberty, however, is like the morning dew…new every day.
