On Thursday, Glenn Beck announced on his radio show that he would be leaving his 5:00 show on FOX News. Here is the press release:

FOX NEWS AND MERCURY RADIO ARTS ANNOUNCE NEW AGREEMENT
(New York, NY) Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year. Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Glenn Beck said: “I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and Fox News. I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I’ve learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership.” Joel Cheatwood, SVP/Development at Fox News, will be joining Mercury Radio Arts effective April 24, 2011. Part of his role as EVP will be to manage the partnership and serve as a liaison with the Fox News Channel. Roger Ailes said: “Joel is a good friend and one of the most talented and creative executives in the business. Over the past four years I have consistently valued his input and advice and that will not stop as we work with him in his new role.” “Glenn Beck” is consistently the third highest rated program on cable news. For the 27 months that “Glenn Beck” has aired on Fox News, the program has averaged more than 2.2 million total viewers and 563,000 viewers 25-54 years old, numbers normally associated with shows airing in primetime, not at 5pm. “Glenn Beck” has dominated all of its cable news competitors.

Telling you that Beck “averaged” over 2.2 million viewers is polishing a turd. What this circle jerk press release doesn’t tell you is that over the last year, Beck’s show has lost about a million viewers. AC Neilsen said Beck had about 2.7 million viewers in early 2010, and just under 2 million viewers a year later. Beck’s show has also suffered through an advertising revenue loss, since the advertisers wanted the 25-54 male demographic, which is the very age group Beck has been losing. And don’t kid yourself…this is ALL about advertising revenue.

OK. So we’ve established that Glenn Beck is phasing out, or getting phased out, of his prime 5:00 showtime. But let’s talk about why viewers are switching channels, never to return.

In his defense, nobody’s better at shining the light on the cockroaches that run Washington. You can make fun of his emotionalism, his chalk boards and his rhetoric. But you can’t poke holes in the guy’s ability to ferret out corruption.

Beck himself says that his show is a cross between entertainment and enlightenment…or some other catchy phrase like that. So he himself knows that his job is to hold an audience so that News Corp. can sell advertising. Glenn Beck has only been on FOX News for two years. Why the loss in audience?

Beck is a neocon, not a Tea Partier or a libertarian or a Tenther. He loves Abraham Lincoln, loves the military and supports the present wars. So, for most of his audience, he thinks like they do, talks like they do, supports the military like they do. So why the loss in audience?

It’s intellectual “Blue Ball.”

Most people don’t enjoy getting bad news for an hour a day, five days a week. Their lives are already a struggle, inflation is destroying their buying power, and unemployment is at about 18% nationally…despite the lies Washington tells us. And so Beck rails on about the headlong rush America is making toward totalitarianism, assisted by the ideologues in DC and the world bankers. And what he says is true.

But Glenn Beck does not offer solutions. Sure, the nation needs to adhere to the Constitution. Sure, Congress needs to balance the budget and slash spending. Sure, the Federal Reserve is destroying the Dollar. Sure, all Presidents push for more power and less accountability. But at the end of Beck’s shows, nothing happens.

It’s intellectual “Blue Ball.”

You know the feeling if you’re a guy. Every guy has had the condition “Blue Ball” at some time in his life. Blue Ball happens when you become very sexually aroused without a climax. After your tumescent pecker subsides, you feel like you were kicked in the scrotum. It’s not pretty.

Watching the Glenn Beck TV show or listening to his radio show will give you intellectual Blue Ball. Day after day, week after week, Glenn Beck brings you to the point of climax, and then the show’s over.

The solution to all of the corruption…the criminality…the Washington lies…the wars…the deficit spending…the Federal Reserve…the politics…the inflation…is SECESSION. Secession is the orgasm that you seek at the end of the struggle for liberty.

For God’s Sake, stop trying to change Washington. Just leave.

In my previous article entitled Dear Glenn Beck, I even included Nullification with secession for some solution-based topics. But Mr. Beck will have none of it.

Nullification, while it could be a baby step toward liberty, doesn’t solve much. Especially when you consider that none of the states could assert their sovereignty if Washington balked at “being nullified.” And Nullification Is For Sissies.

Secession solves all Federal problems at once. The Federal Reserve, deficit spending in Congress, unconstitutional Federal programs, Social Security, Medicare, foreign wars, the Alphabet Soup Federal Agencies…all disappear overnight in the state where secession occurs. I’m not suggesting that secession is a panacaea with no headaches. States becoming new nations would have to act decisively and quickly to begin to govern.

But remember that the fifteen states of the Soviet Union (a) had no currency and (b) had no military. Yet they all seceded from the USSR in 1989 and almost overnight, they were nations once again. Moscow was powerless to prevent them from secession.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it here once again. If Glenn Beck wanted to galvanize world attention and gain an enormous audience, all he would have to do is begin offering secession as the only solution for liberty on the North American Continent.
